I am still here...for now

Current goings-on, movies, chocolate, and Martin. Well, I have been away from my blog for a little while. I was on strike, because I was writing such painful, boring, who-gives-a-crap entries, I did myself and you a big favor. Nobody wants to read crap, and I certainly don't want to write it. Movies: I love movies. There was a time in my life where I would actually GO to movies, not caring that it would cost a small fortune, because I considered it entertainment and worthy of such a lofty price. Now, these are but distant memories as Martin is 10 months old and much too feisty to be taken out into public. But I still love watching movies. We have a large, wide-screen, HDTV monitor, with surround sound, so it makes watching movies at home very enjoyable. We also get PPV, which I think is a fantastic invention. It used to be this treat, but now since it is so cheap, I can't remember the last time we went to Blockbuster. I remember when it first became available, I would DREAM of getting a PPV movie, but I was like, "10 bucks to watch a movie, are you kidding me?", but now it is so cheap, I just can't see the bother of going to Blockbuster unless I want to see an old movie, and chances are, I don't want to see it that bad. Between VHS and DVD, we pretty much have a few hundred movies covered. So I love the Sci-Fi action horror genre. So, I was So happy when we PPVed Alien vs. Predator. Critics, say what you will, I was highly entertained for almost 2 hours. Maybe it is because I don't get out much anymore, but it was entertaining, and that is generally all I require from my movies. Bottom line, I liked the first 2 alien movies, and I liked Predator, so I also liked AVP. Also saw The Shadow and The Phantom last night on Sci-Fi channel. Also both very entertaining. I really like the comic book to live action type movie. There is this weird, other-worldly feel to them. Cheesy almost. Chocolate: I made some brownies yesterday. Yum. My chocolate stash is decreasing. Luckily Jason goes to England in June, and the In-Laws are visiting in July, so I should be getting replenished in due order. I have developed such a preference for English chocolate that all American chocolate taste like ick to me now. I ate a Mr. Goodbar a week or so ago, and it was just AWFUL. Chocolate snob that I now am... I have yet to try the Chantico. I usually only go to Starbucks in the AM, after the gym, and getting a Chantico seems out of line. I did try the caramel mocha, spew. I really don't like their caramel syrup, so when I get my caramel lattes, I only get the caramel sauce. Once, they tried to sneak in the syrup, and I had to do the smack-back. I love Martin, he is such an angel.

Look at the time!

I FINALLY got my wireless working at home. About time, I say. And that's all I have to say about that. I feel like Carrie Bradshaw though, sitting in bed, typing on my laptop. Cool. I am catching the cold going around. I hate being sick, especially since Jason is currently in L.A. And my mom drives me bananas when he is gone, although she has been staying away from me, probably because she doesn't want to get sick, too. Gosh, I'm exhausted. I'm just waiting for spring break shark attack to come on so I can fall asleep. I have the DVR recording it, so.

Look how much I'm worth!

I am worth $2,057,470.00 on HumanForSale.com

Window shopping

But first...a few things to get off my chest. I am trying to be a good citizen, so I am reading the news. I happen across the story of the woman who they guy from Atlanta kidnapped. The woman made it out safely, thank goodness, but at the end of the story, they mentioned there was a reward for 60,000 dollars, I believe, but they aren't sure if she is ELIGIBLE. Excuse me? Why not? How could she not be eligible to get the reward? Explain this to me, because I missed the bus. Is it because she had to spend hours with this psycho, at risk for her life? Is it because she is brave? She stood up under the pressure? Jeez. That's all I have to say. Number two. I would like to visit Dubai, if I was loaded, rich, and it was safe. I have been reading about these super, mega, hotels there and it really sounds like heaven on Earth. They have this super hotel, I can't remember the name of it, but it only has suites and they are LUXURIOUS. They also have all these man-made islands (please, no environmental bashing), that look cool. SO I would like to visit, except I am sure it would cost like what I make in a year to spend a week there. And it is centrally located next to a big war and all. Just that. Okay. Window shopping. I love window shopping as in going window shopping. I HATE window shopping as in, buying window for my house, window shopping. These guys are like car salesmen. Except for worse. No one REALLY needs a car, but when you have rotten windows, and you have a Homeowners Assoc, you NEED windows. And when it comes down to it, THEY ARE ALL THE SAME. Really people. We are looking at fairly high-end, energy efficient, custom vinyl windows. They are probably only 5-6 manufacturers of said windows, and THEY ARE ALL THAT SAME. I have said enough about that...until tomorrow.

A new thought

I apologize again for the sloppiness of my last post. I would delete it, but then again, it has become a part of my blog. No regrets. Martin's fever broke last night, so we were able to get a small amount of sleep. Hooray. When Martin sleeps, we all sleep. Soon, he will have FIVE teeth. So, in the latest chapter of the saga that is my life, we are looking at getting new windows. Replacement windows. Yes. You see, we have a slight rotting issue with three windows, and we also have some glazing issues with a few of the other windows. We had a representative from Renewal by Andersen in last night. They are beautiful windows, but PROHIBITIVE. We'll see. We are not sure how long we will even bee in that house, we will know more in probably a year or son. Anyway. I have a question. Why are people such jerks? Just notice the next time you drive. People are terrible, driving like they own the road. Yacking on their mobile phones, not even paying attention to the road. Ugh. Today's thoughts

So, another day has passed. It was snowing today. I hate the snow. We had such a nice day yesterday, and today it is cold and it was snowing. I hate it. On top of everything else, I had a horrible day yesterday. I left my Medela at home (WTF?), then my boss wants to have a lunchtime meeting. Luckily Jason had the afternoon off, so he brought Martin, I meet them at Ikea, so that was nice. I also had a 48 hour headache, and no sleep so I was quite pleasant. Jason couldn't sleep last night, he was too hot he says. ??? So he got up and fixed our audio problem, folded laundry, then built one of our bookcases. So now we are almost done with our office space, and we can finally get the rest of the boxes out of the family and living rooms. What a poor post, I apologize.

And now...an update

I have not forsaken my blog. I am sure this happens often, someone starts a blog, posts a few times, then leaves or the high ground. This has yet to occur to me. While I do have internet access at home, our wireless is not set-up yet. Jason is our official "stuff" person, I don't have the patience for it. All the wiring and fiddling, ugh, I have enough to do. So he is also busy, so we only have one ethernet cable connection in our family room, so it means trying to write my blog at home, while Martin is crawling all over the lap-top. No thanks. So no blogging at night or weekends. I have been away on travel earlier this week, and it was actually a very busy trip, when I was in my room at night I was very comatose, so no blogging there either. But now I am back. The continuation of my story...will have to wait. Sorry. Chocolate update...I have yet to try the Chantico drink at Starbucks. Maybe one of these days. I also had one of my caramel Aero bars, yuck. Won't be getting more of those. I was just eating some white maltesers, but the regular ones are much better. That's it for now.
